Prismagic is an international performance company that creates full scale circus productions, vignette skits, and hourly ambient performances. We create all original material from the costumes and choreography to the circus narratives we tell on stage. We are known for telling cinematic, bitter-sweet love stories that come alive through the performers. The company is known as the circus for the tender hearts.

We create performance opportunities for phenomenal artists who have a desire to be in a production that takes care of them. Prismagic strives to deliver diverse casts, going the extra mile to employ people of color, queers, neurodivergent angels, and people of all body types. Given the care and patience that they struggle to find elsewhere, our artists thrive on stage.

The value of our success is measured by how much fun we have and how much fun others have with us, not on how much money we make on tickets. We pay our artists primarily out of awarded grants, which often gives us the ability to bring performances to marginalized communities and under-served neighborhoods FOR FREE. While our entertainers are paid a thriving wage, the art itself is a gift. We do this in lieu of ticketed events as often as possible.

In the summer of 2014 Petra Delarocha and Frank Brislawn dreamed up the idea to make a tiny stage called “Prismagic.” Hearkening back the era of coin-operated fortune telling machines, they created a beautiful vignette environment for passersby to experience. Rather than a mechanical box, Frank and Petra posed as statues that came to life to offer tarot readings and jewels for people to take home. Audiences had an immediate response to the presence of the statues. They were confused and impressed with the juxtaposition and detail in Frank and Petra's set-up and by the accuracy of the tarot readings. It made the couple wonder, how could they bring that special feeling to a greater audience? With Petra's experience in performance art and Frank's childlike wonder, it was easy for them to imagine "Prismagic" as a full-scale circus.

There is an unmet niche for an affectionate version of the circus. By means of storytelling though circus arts, we offer our audience a catalyst in connecting with themselves and others. Prismagic means building environments that blur high skill talent, surreal landscapes, and real life resonance. Our stories are carefully designed to reflect the good intentions of humanity, remembering that everyone in their own world is doing the best they can. Or as we like to say "everyone in their heart is a little kitty"
